Once an ancient farmhouse, this beautiful Manigod chalet, built in 1880, is now a stylish 5-star, five-bedroom chalet where 10 people can enjoy a luxurious Alpine holiday with a sunny flat garden and breathtaking views on the mountains.
The renovation has stayed faithful to the original building, retaining the barn doors, panelling and even some of the furniture. Reclaimed wood, new wood and glass have been added to create a unique home with stunning contemporary touches.
After an active day in the mountains, you can relax in the large heated indoor swimming pool (9 x 4.5m) or spa area (sauna, jacuzzi, massage room) and enjoy a well-stocked wine cellar – help yourself and settle up before you leave. The chalet is 10 minutes away from the slopes and less than 1.5km from the centre of Manigod, where you’ll find a popular bakery and restaurants. The location is also ideal for cycling with the Col de la Croix-Fry bike climb nearby!

About the property...
There's plenty of space for 10 guests at Chalet Cashmere Spirit, with five cosy bedrooms and four recently renovated bathrooms. Set over three floors, it features bedrooms, bathrooms and seating areas on each level – perfect for several families, each with their own space.
The main living room at the top of the chalet offers superb views over the Manigod valley. Pick a bottle of wine from the cellar and relax on soft sofas around the log fire. Prefer watching TV? Head to the dedicated TV room below, furnished with two antique day beds piled with cushions. Looking for peace and quiet? The ground floor has another relaxing area with a daybed, ideal for reading.
The first bedroom is double/twin room on the ground floor, next to the reading space. This level also houses the luxurious spa area, featuring a 5-person hot tub, double shower and new sauna. A visiting therapist can provide treatments in the dedicated massage room.
A skiers' entrance on this floor means you can drop your gear before heading upstairs.
The highlight of the first floor is the large indoor pool (9m x 4.5m), whose new picture windows flood the room with incredible natural light. Access it via double doors from the TV lounge, from the lower floor or from the decked garden. Make a day of it with lunch on the 50m2 covered terrace, enjoying stunning mountain views. A new summer kitchen has also recently been added.
The handbuilt kitchen has everything you need to cook a delicious meal, and now benefits from beautiful natural light thanks to its newly installed picture windows. The large dining table easily seats everyone for a convivial meal around the woodburning stove.
This floor also has another double bedroom, as well as a bathroom with freestanding bath and twin basins.
The main living area is on the top floor, where cosy sofas surround another woodburning stove, and doors open onto a balcony with mountain views.
Two bedrooms share this balcony – a family room with a double and single bed, as well as a double/twin room with dressing area and en-suite shower room. There's also a separate WC. The final bedroom is a large double/twin with seating area and a mezzanine over the bed, where you'll find the elegant en-suite shower room.
There are two parking spaces at Chalet Cashmere Spirit, but guests who need more space can use the south-facing garden at the front of the property.
About the area...
Chalet Cashmere Spirit is just 10 minutes from the Croix-Fry sector of the La Clusaz pistes (altitude 1500m), where you can park free, although the ski bus stops just 20m from the chalet. There are plenty of gentle nursery slopes here, where beginners can build confidence, while experienced skiers have access to more than 200km of pistes and 95 lifts in the La Clusaz/Le Grand-Bornand area.
Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails on the nearby Beauregard plateau, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with an ice-skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides. And when you come home at the end of the day, the underfloor heating, log fire and sauna mean there’s always a warm welcome.
Summer visitors will find plenty of walks, from mountain hikes to gentle plateau paths, and you can take the ski lift to the top of the mountains and come back down at your own pace. There are tree-top adventure parks for all the family at Thônes and Le Grand-Bornand, and a beautiful lakeside golf course at Annecy.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, via ferrata, mountain-biking or white-water rafting – just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod. Round off the perfect day with a barbecue and a dip in the pool back at Chalet Cashmere Spirit.
Just a short drive from Manigod, the ski resorts of La Clusaz and Le Grand-Bornand have a good choice of shops and restaurants, as well as weekly markets where you can pick up fresh local produce. There are more shops and a couple of supermarkets in Thônes, just a 10-minute drive away.
The medieval town of Annecy is a great day out. Browse the shops, museums and galleries and eat at a lakeside restaurant before hiring a boat and exploring the beaches, or indulging in a little watersport, such as kitesurfing, waterskiing or windsurfing.

“Idyllic mountain stay”
Pleasantly surprised upon our arrival with a lovely gift basket and bottles of good wine, the chalet is superb and very cozy, with a magnificent pool to relax in after a day in the mountains. All our expectations were met. Idyllic and calm setting, magnificent view, shuttle for skiing at the foot of the chalet, 15 minutes from the lifts. We will return for sure, even in summer for hiking, it must be splendid.

In love with Manigod, we were seduced by the authentic character of this huge farmhouse – a chalet dating from 1880, in an exceptional state of conservation. The renovation by the previous owner knew how to mix tradition and modernity by preserving as much as possible the original materials and the atmosphere of an old farm.
The integration of the large swimming pool in the heart of the chalet is perfect, giving access to a "well-being" area located just below.
The size of the chalet provides plenty of living space, giving guests the opportunity to get away from it all whenever they want.
The chalet offers a panoramic view of the mountains surrounding Manigod with a beautiful view over the Aravis mountains from the main terrace.
As a cycling enthusiast, its location is ideal for great cycling around the Col de la Croix-Fry, not to mention the many hiking opportunities that the region has to offer.
